Our Expeditions

Our Meteorite Hunting Expeditions

For over a decade, the team at PrimeLab Petratides has traveled across the globe on thrilling meteorite hunting expeditions. From the snow-covered taiga forests of Northern Sweden to the sun-scorched sands of the Atacama Desert in Chile, our mission remains the same: to uncover ancient fragments of the cosmos that have journeyed billions of years through space before landing on Earth.

Fueled by our passion for astronomy and the unknown, we’ve explored some of the world’s most remote and demanding terrains — all to connect with the stars through these extraterrestrial relics.

Taiga Forest Expedition

Deep in the Swedish Taiga, using high-powered metal detectors capable of locating objects up to 3 meters below the surface.

A breathtaking 4kg Muonionalusta meteorite — a tangible piece of the universe in our hands.

Digging Site

Challenging conditions are common — waterlogged soil, dense roots, and buried rock formations often stand between us and discovery.

3kg Muonionalusta Meteorite

This stunning 3kg Muonionalusta meteorite was unearthed from 1.8 meters below ground — a cosmic treasure revealed.

Meteorite Joy

The indescribable joy of holding a meteorite that had lain hidden beneath the Earth for over a million years.

Atacama Desert, Chile

Our search for cosmic fragments has also taken us to the Atacama — one of the driest and most Mars-like landscapes on Earth.

Atacama Desert

In the silence of the desert, every shadow could hide a stone from the stars.

Remote Meteorite Site

Hiking across untouched terrain in search of ancient visitors from space.
